Alfred Rutto – Vice President of Academic Affairs

Ensuring that the academics at Africa Theological Seminary (ATS) is achieving it vision of empowering Christian leaders to change Africa and the world.

Alfred Rutto is the Vice President of Academic Affairs for ATS. He provides leadership to the development and management of curriculum appropriate to the educational goals of ATS and ensuring that the academic programs of ATS achieve its vision and meet the standards of our accrediting agencies. Alfred also teaches courses in New Testament and Systematic Theology. His life goal is to reach out to a wider community as a salt and light of the world through modeling and equipping God’s servants.

Alfred comes from a strong Christian background. His grandfather helped translate the Nandi Bible and was the first Vice President of Africa Inland Church. Alfred surrendered his life to Christ in 1992 and also serves as an associate pastor in his church, African Inland Church (AIC) Naisambu.

Alfred has a Bachelor of Theology with an emphasis in Pastoral Studies from Scott Theological College (currently Scott Christian University) and Master of Divinity in Biblical Studies from Nairobi Graduate School of Theology (currently Africa International University).

Alfred is married to Nancy, who works outside the home in addition to managing the Rutto household. God has blessed them with two sons, Ian Kibet (gradeschool) and Brian Kiplimo (infant).

Praises

  • We are praising God as a family for the gift of life and health.
  • Praise God for the opportunity to be used of God to equip and disciple his servants through ATS and also enrich the lives of many believers through AIC Naisambu.
  • Praise God for the increased enrolment of new students and the commitment of our faculty to train His servants.

Prayer Requests

  • Pray that I would live and teach truth well.
  • Pray for God’s wisdom and guidance as we bring up our two boys in the ways of the Lord.
  • Pray that God would provide for ATS’ needs
  • I just completed teaching the books of Acts, which was life transforming for all of us. Pray that the eighteen servants who went through the course will be more sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit in their lives.
  • Pray for me as I prepare to teach the men’s fellowship in our church on the Biblical understanding of financial sustainability and growth.
