Emmy Oriaro – Head Librarian

Providing critical resources for students, faculty and the community for the glory of God and to train the heart, instruct the mind and empower the hand.

Emmy Oriaro is the Head Liberian for Africa Theological Seminary (ATS). For her, helping students, faculty and the community find quality resources for ministry, research and assignments is a calling to serve those who minister along with the general public. She has worked at ATS’ library since 2002

Emmy has a key role of—and passion for—maintaining and growing ATS’ library, which is one of the largest theological libraries in Western Kenya. In addition to its print books and journals, it has electronic access to numerous academic e-books and journals. It is common to find Ph.D. students from other institutions accessing ATS’ library.

Emmy grew up in Western Kenya and has her degree in Library and Information Science from Kisii (Kenya) University. Prior to working at ATS, she worked for the British Councel Library in Kisumu and the Kenya National Library Service in Garissa.
